Bank holiday weekend is here and oh how I wish I was heading back up north for some bank hol cocktails. Myself and some friends were in Leeds just a few weekends ago and it was bloody brill. So I just thought I would share what we did and some great places we went.
Four of us headed up North from ye old Norfolk..My lovely boyfriend offered to drop myself and my sister at Leeds on his way to Manchester. We were going to meet up with a friend for shopping, food and cocktails! After a cheeky stop off at road side OK diner to re-fresh we arrived.
As the boys headed on to Manchester us girls got to the important stuff we headed to Leeds Trinity centre and had a quick scout about before grabbing some food. Where else would you go for a pre night out meal than Nandos, and it was great (all about the macho peas.)
We then pumped ourselves up for the task of getting ready, which surprisingly didn’t take as long as anticipated so we managed to head out early enough to try a few places. The first place we went was Sky Lounge which apart from having a really random weird smell was pretty cool. We sat outside with our Pornstar martinis and had a proper catch up.
After we headed to The Alchamist which had a strange location being inside the shopping centre, however it was the my favourite place of the night. The menu was crazy with loads of choice each drink had a twist to it. I had a ‘Tickle Me Pink‘ which included gin and nettle stings, it gave a strange sensation like the name suggests a tickling on the tounge. Followed by ‘Bubble Bath‘ which was just insane and literally kept bubbling right over the glass. The ‘Colour Changing One‘ was also really cool with the description of ingredients including ‘magic’ It came in a glass and two test tubes which made it changed the colour and smoke.
Luckily we managed to get a table outside, as I don’t think it would have been as much fun if we had to stand at the super busy bar all night. The cocktails were so much fun and I really loved the look and style of the bar. I would love to go back and try more of the cocktails and maybe even the food. A couple of drinks later we ended in Revolution de cuba which isn’t really my scene for music but was actually a good laugh and you get a hula necklace!
Sunday we dragged ourselves out of bed for more shopping we went back to Trinity and visited the mecca of all shops Leeds Primark it was bloody huge. Newlook, Topshop and H&M were also on the list. After spending a million pounds we got some lunch. I always wanted to try a crepe and that was day I finally did we went to Crepe Affaire I had a Breakfast one which was just what I needed and topped off a great weekend.
