The next big… Trend

Spring is here and the high street shops have so much to offer for this season. There is a massive buzz around gingham, stripes, pink, red accessories and florals but which ones are worth investing in and will be sticking around for a/w!

Of course as expected florals are huge for spring, summer with high st shops offering a garden of ditsy, embroidered, bright and oriental florals. Even better they will be sticking around for a/w, especially black based florals, as seen at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi , Erdem,  Mary Katrantzou and Mulberry. So no need to pack them away at the end of the season, just make sure you invest in some key pieces to keep you going through to a/w that you won’t get bored with in a hurry!

Oh my Gee.. It’s the Slogan tee

This season has seen the return of the slogan tee which has been creeping in for a while but has really stuck this season. With empowering pro women slogans like “Femme Forever” , “Girl Gang” and “Boy Bye” seen at Topshop. Love them or hate them they are here to stay with slogan’s becoming bigger and crazier than ever focusing on political issues and tounge in cheek quotes with inspiration from Ashish and King of the slogan tee House of Holland.

Red Accessories

From the Gucci red loafers myself and everyone has been lusting over to the smallest details like a choker, the brighter and bolder the better. At the moment red accessories are key and have been used for colour clashing against hot pink and blue. Moving forward into a/w it will be all about colour blocking. This means head to toe red in different shades and textures. Prada, Roksanda Ilincic, Preen and Fendi have all been rocking this, so invest and keep hold of those red accessories.

Flute, bell and ruffle sleeves are all over the high street right now and will be developing in a/w. Not only will ruffles feature heavily on sleeves but also head to toe. Bell and flute sleeves will become bigger to give outfits a dreamy free flow feeling. This was seen all over the catwalk at Molly Goddard, House of Holland and Alexander McQueen. So for a trend that will carry you through to a/w look for beautiful fluted and floaty sleeves and ruffles, ruffles, ruffles!!
